EAST LANSING, Mich. – No. 6 USC women’s golf for the 26th straight year returns to the NCAA Championship Final Site, after winning the programs 15th NCAA Regional in the East Lansing Regional at the Forest Akers West Golf Course.

The squad swept through all three days, as they held the lead at the end of each session. USC posted a team total of nine-under-par for the event and won the event by four strokes over Oklahoma State. The other qualifying teams were Michigan State (-4), Northwestern (-3) and Pepperdine (-1).

This is USC’s fourth win this season and the third at a regional under head coach Justin Silverstein. The Trojans have now successfully made it to the NCAA Championship Final Site every year dating back to 1998 (with no championship held in 2020).

USC ended up with two top-five individuals, as freshman Bailey Shoemaker and sophomore Catherine Park finished 2ndand tied for 5th, respectfully. Shoemaker fell just short of the regional crown as she ended up nine-under par, while Notre Dames’ Lauren Beaudreau finished first at 12-under par. Shoemaker ended her final day by carding a 71 (-1) to finalize her scoresheet, 65-71-71. Park had her best round, posting a 67 (-5) and moving up nine spots into a tie for fifth. Park was five-over par for the regional with a 70-74-67. That 67 gives her nine rounds in the 60s for the season, which is fifth in program history.

Senior Brianna Navarrosa was two-over for the day, and that made the difference, as she was two-over overall. The senior ended tied for 16th, as she now has six top-25 finishes this season.

The last two of the bunch were junior Amari Avery and senior Christine Wang. Avery had a tougher showing as she was five-over for the afternoon. Avery ended up seven-over par for the tournament and finished tied for 34th. Wang was the final player for USC as she tied for 38th at eight-over par.

The Women of Troy advance on to the NCAA Championship Site, as they will take on a field of 30 teams in hopes of claiming their first crown since 2013. That journey will start on May 17 and go through May 22 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
