CARLSBAD, Calif. — It’s time for the national championship.
The 2024 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship starts Friday at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa’s North Course. Thirty of the best men’s golf teams in the country will descend upon Southern California to battle it out for the national title.
And making up those teams are some of the best players in the amateur game. There are numerous stars who will play for the individual title over the coming days at Omni La Costa, including plenty who are on the Haskins Award Final Watch List.
Here’s a look at 10 players to watch this week at the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship
Amat finished runner-up in the NCAA West Lafayette Regional and has two victories for the Lobos this season. He could be a dark-horse candidate to win the title.
Clanton had three straight victories this season and is one of the favorites to win the Haskins Award. He’s also looking to help Florida State build on its semifinal appearance from last year.
Ege has been one of the best players in college golf this season, claiming three victories, including the Southern Conference title.
Gabrelcik has two victories this season, and he also has a fourth-place finish at regionals. He also has finished in the top 25 in every one of his starts.
Greaser had a quiet season but picked up his first win of the season at the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional. In his last college season, he could help guide the Tar Heels to a title.
The reigning Phil Mickelson Award winner has had a quiet sophomore season, but what a place for James to get his first win of the year.
