CARLSBAD, Calif. – Washington’s Petr Hruby and Taehoon Song have been named to the 2024 Ping All-West Region Team, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
It is the first all-region selection for either player, who were both also recently named to the 2023-24 All-Pac-12 teams.
“This is a nice reward for some excellent golf for Petr and Taehoon,” head coach Alan Murray said. “It’s always a nice compliment for our program when we have multiple guys make season end teams like this.”
Hruby, a watch list honoree for the Fred Haskins and Ben Hogan Awards, earns his first all-region nod after a stellar final season for the Purple and Gold. The senior earned seven top-10 finishes this season, with 14 rounds in the 60’s.
The Czech Republic native was Washington’s most consistent player all year long as the Huskies ranked inside the top-10 for the majority of the season. Hruby led UW in scoring in six of 13 events on the season and was inside the top-two on all but four occasions.
Song, a Second Team All-Pac-12 standout, finished his season with 16 rounds under par, including 11 rounds in the 60s in 2023-24.
The Korean natives shining moment came at the Husky Invitational, leading the Dawgs to a wire-to-wire title while claiming the individual championship. Song fired a first round 63 en route to a 54-hole score of 201, claiming the title over Hruby by three strokes.
