The second women’s Major of the season has reached its conclusion and a whole host of players are battling it out for their own little slice of history at Lancaster Country Club in Pennsylvania.
Three players held the overnight lead on four-under, with two-time Major champion Minjee Lee beginning as favorite to land a second US Women’s Open crown.
Yet, to do it, the Australian will have to battle past a determined Wichanee Meechai and Andrea Lee – as well as the formidable layout in front of them all.
Lancaster has been dubbed “a beauty and a beast” by many, mostly due to its incredibly difficult scoring conditions against a picturesque backdrop.
To help with scoring, the USGA announced at the start of the day that the par-4 16th would be shortened by over 100 yards, giving players the chance to go for it all and potentially seal their place as a Major winner.
But who will triumph in the end? Only time will tell…
