Greyserman and Kim Set for 2024 U.S. Open

PINEHURST, N.C. – Duke men’s golf has two representatives at the 124th U.S. Open, which begins at Pinehurst No. 2 on Thursday morning. Current Blue Devil, and rising sophomore, Bryan Kim is one of 16 amateurs in the field while former Duke standout Max Greyserman makes his second career U.S. Open start during his first season as a PGA TOUR member.

Kim, coming off a freshman season at Duke that saw the Brookeville, Md., native start in all 12 events, earned his spot in the U.S. Open with his victory at the 2023 U.S. Junior Amateur last July. Kim defeated Joshua Bai, 2-up, in the 36-hole championship match to claim the trophy and become the second Duke golfer all-time to stake claim to the noteworthy title, joining Jason Widener (1988).

Once he arrived in Durham, Kim logged a 72.70 stroke average – good for the ninth-best stroke average by a freshman in program history. He tallied 11 under-par rounds, four rounds in the 60’s and earned his best finish of the season with a fifth-place, 4-under, 212, at the Rod Myers Invitational.

Greyserman, after earning his first PGA TOUR card last October, secured his place in this year’s U.S. Open field through open qualifying, tying for medalist honors at final qualifying with an 11-under, 131, at Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, N.J. Greyserman, who played at Duke from 2013-17, is making his second U.S. Open start, after barely missing the cut in 2017 at Erin Hills.

Kim is scheduled to tee off at 8:46 a.m. in the first round, starting on hole No. 1 and playing alongside Isaiah Salinda and Jim Herman. Greyserman, who also starts his first round on No. 1, tees off at 7:07 a.m., playing with Oscar Morales and Casey Jarvis.

The second round for Kim starts at 2:31 p.m., going off of No. 10, while Greyserman is scheduled for a 12:52 p.m. starting time off of No. 10.

Fans are able to watch live coverage of the first round, beginning at 6:30 a.m., and going until 5 p.m., on USA, followed by additional streaming coverage on Peacock, from 5-8 p.m. Second round streaming on Peacock runs from 6:30 a.m., to 1 p.m., and is followed by six hours of coverage, from 1-7 p.m., on NBC, with one additional hour of streaming on Peacock…
