Clemson University men’s golf Head Coach Jordan Byrd announced that Daniel Castles has joined the Tigers’ coaching staff.
“I am very excited to add Daniel Castles to our men’s golf staff here at Clemson. Daniel brings a fresh perspective to Clemson Golf after working for a great Head Coach in Carter Collins at Georgia Southern,” said Byrd. “His work with two outstanding players on the Korn Ferry Tour in Carson Young and Scott Langley will also help our practice and course management. Daniel is a relentless recruiter who will bring an optimistic and energetic spirit to practice and tournaments. I look forward to seeing how Daniel can help us keep Clemson Golf one of the top programs in the country.”
Castles spent the previous two seasons on Georgia Southern’s coaching staff, helping lead the Eagles to 10 Top 5 team finishes, five tournament championships, won the 2023 Sun Belt Stroke Play Championship and finished 7-3 in match play.
Castles was a professional caddie on the Korn Ferry Tour for the three seasons prior to his time in Statesboro. He caddied in over 45 Korn Ferry Tour events and a PGA Championship. He also has three seasons of collegiate coaching experience, having served as an assistant coach at Palm Beach Atlantic (2018-20) and Anderson University (2012-13).
Castles played college golf at Tri-County Tech and served as a volunteer assistant for coach Danny Neal at Anderson University, where he assisted in recruiting, conducting practices and managing players at events. He was an assistant to Coach Craig Watson at Palm Beach Atlantic, where he assisted in recruiting, organizing practices and fundraising.
Castles earned his bachelor’s degree in organizational behavior from Anderson in 2014 and is completing his masters in kinesiology from Georgia Southern this summer. He and his wife, Natalie, have two sons, Lyles and Jonah.
