How all 16 amateurs fared at 2024 US Open at Pinehurst 2

The 2024 U.S. Open saw an exciting chase for low amateur honors.

And it included the two players vying for that title being paired together in the final round.

It came down to Neal Shipley, the 2023 U.S. Amateur runner-up and low am of the 2024 Masters, and Luke Clanton, the top-ranked player in the NCAA golf rankings this season, battling it out at Pinehurst No. 2. And it was Neal Shipley coming out on top and joining an exclusive club.

Of the 16 amateurs to tee it up this week, three made the 36-hole weekend cut.

Shipley earned his second low amateur honor of the year, becoming the sixth to do so at the Masters and U.S. Open and first since Viktor Hovland in 2019.
