Cañado & Yu Set for Action This Week


DURHAM – A pair of Duke women’s golf incoming freshmen — Anna Cañado Espinal and Martina Yu – are set for action this week in Japan and Canada, respectively. 
 
Cañado will represent her home country of Spain in the Toyota Junior Golf World Cup June 18-21 at the
Chukyo Golf Club Ishino Course in Japan.  Other countries competing are Netherlands, South Africa, Japan, Thailand, Australia, USA, Mexico and Peru.
 
All golfers will play 72 holes of stroke play. 
 
Yu is set to compete in the 2024 GolfBC Group BC Women’s Open from June 20-22 at the Pitt Meadows Golf Club in British Columbia.  The 54-hole Open features 60 golfers with the top 25 and ties advancing after 36 holes.  The Women’s Open is available to professionals and elite amateurs. 
 
On Thursday, Yu is scheduled to tee off at 10 a.m.
