East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State men’s golfer Drew Hackett was selected to the Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Communicators.
Hackett carried a 3.704 grade-point average and earned a master’s of business administration from the Broad College of Business. To earn a spot on the Academic All-District team from CSC, nominees must at least a sophomore with a year in residence at the athlete’s current school, carry a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average or higher and be a starter or a significant reserve.
A transfer from the UNC Wilmington in North Carolina, Hackett played the last two seasons at Michigan State. In his final season of competition, Hackett was third on the team with a 72.87 scoring average, appearing in 13 tournaments and 31 rounds. His top finish was a tie for sixth place at the Johnnie-O at Sea Island, firing a 7-under par 209. Hackett’s best 54-hole score of the year was an 8-under par 208 at the Colleton River Collegiate when he tied for 10th place.
He was an All-Big Ten Second Team selection and earned NCAA All-Midwest Region honors in 2022-23, leading the team in scoring average at 71.86. He posted two top-5, four top-10 and six top-20 finishes in 12 events and led the team in six tournaments.
Hackett finished his collegiate career with a 72.99 scoring average over 131 rounds.
