Five Tigers Earn WGCA All-American Scholar Honors

Five members of the University of Missouri women’s golf team were honored for their work off the course on Monday, earning selection to the WGCA All-American Scholar Teams.

Graduate Winnie Ng, senior Emily Staples, junior Ffion Tynan and sophomores Addie Dobson and Melanie Walker all collected the accolade for Mizzou. The Tigers’ five selections are tied for the second most in the SEC during the 2023-24 academic year.

In order to qualify for the academic accolade, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur and on the team’s roster through the conclusion of the team’s season and have played in 50 percent of the school’s regularly-scheduled competitive rounds during the year.

Ng completed her collegiate career with a 3.990 grade point average in her one season on campus at Mizzou. Dobson matched Ng with a 3.990 GPA, followed by Tynan (3.852), Staples (3.638) and Walker (3.624).

In addition to its strong year in the classroom, the Tigers set multiple records on the course in 2023-24. Mizzou posted a school-record with a 293.1 stroke average this season with five Tigers recording an individual mark under 75.00 for the first time in program history.
