Five Blue Devils Earn WGCA All-American Scholars

DURHAM – The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) has released its All-American Scholars for the 2023-24 campaign with a school-record-tying five members of the Duke women’s golf program selected – Rylie Heflin, Andie Smith, Phoebe Brinker, Katie Li and Emma McMyler

It marked the second straight year the Blue Devils tied a school record with five golfers honored.  Duke has received three or more selections in each of the last nine seasons.

Both Brinker and McMyler earned honors for the fourth straight year, while Heflin received accolades for the third consecutive season.  Smith was named for the second year in a row and Li was selected as a rookie.

Brinker and McMyler became just the sixth and seventh Blue Devils to receive the honor four times along with Leona Maguire, Virginia Elena Carta, Jaravee Boonchant, Megan Furtney and Erica Shepherd

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics as student-athletes must hold a minimum of a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 along with playing in 50.0 percent of a team’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
