Twelve amateurs teed it up in the 2024 British Open at Royal Troon, and they came to Scotland from nine countries, with England, the United States and Spain each having two representatives in the field.
Among the competitors include the No. 1 amateur in the world, Gordon Sargent, as well as major amateur event winners, including Santiago de la Fuente, Tommy Morrison and Jacob Skov Olesen. Others punched their ticket the hard way after navigating qualifying.
Here’s a look at the 12 amateurs in the Open — and the four who made the cut, which was 6 over — after 36 holes at the Old Course at Royal Troon.
