Winning majors is difficult. Winning two in one season is rare.

After the first three men’s majors in 2024 were in the books, three golfers — Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau — each had a chance to win a second. They also had a shot at joining a short list of those who have won two majors in one year with one of them being the Open Championship.

It first happened in 1925 and has now occured just 15 times since, the most recent coming with Xander Schauffele’s win at Royal Troon in the 2024 Open Championship, the 10th time Troon has hosted.

Here’s a closer look at the 16 golfers who won two majors, including the British, in the same year.
