Illini Men’s Golf in the Pros | July 22, 2024

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Week 30 of the 2024 golf season features six Illini teeing off across the PGA TOUR, Korn Ferry Tour, PGA TOUR Americas and LIV Golf League.

PGA TOUR

Nick Hardy and Adrien Dumont de Chassart – in his final event before teeing off with fellow former Illini Thomas Detry to represent their native Belgium at the Paris Olympics – will both be in action this week at the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota.

Dumont de Chassart will make his 3M Open debut and is in search of his 10^th made cut. He has played through the weekend in nine of his first 18 PGA Tour events in his rookie campaign.

For Hardy, it marks his third time playing in the event, with two made cuts in his previous trips. He tied for 58^th in 2022, and last season posted one of his 10 top-25 showings of the year with a memorable T13 finish that included one of the greatest shots in the history of the event in which he snapped his iron around a tree on his approach to the No. 9 green in Round 1.

KORN FERRY TOUR

The NV5 Invitational tees off at The Glen Club in Glenview, Illinois, giving the fans on hand an opportunity to see a pair of former Illini, Brian Campbell and Timmy Crawford, in action.

Campbell continues his incredible 2024 season in search of third top-10 finish in as many weeks after a T2 at The Ascendant and a T10 at the Price Cutter Charity Championship during a red hot July run. He is currently No. 8 on the Korn Ferry Tour points list and has climbed to a career-high ranking of 175 on the Official World Golf Rankings.

He will tee off alongside fellow former Illini Timmy Crawford – a native of Chicago who also boasted a standout collegiate career at Loyola Chicago before transferring to Illinois for his final season in 2023-24. 

Crawford will play in his third straight Korn Ferry Tour event. After Monday qualifying then finishing T5 at The Ascendant, he missed the cut last week at the Price Cutter Charity Championship, but earned a sponsor exemption into the NV5 Invitational and looks to bounce back close to home this week.
