Troon integrates clubhouse design services with RealFood

Troon is integrating its clubhouse design and development services with RealFood Hospitality, Strategy & Design. RealFood, which was founded in 1996, has been owned by Troon since 2019 and is one of the leading hospitality strategy and design firms in the golf industry.

The move to integrate Troon’s interior design capacity with RealFood’s specific expertise in foodservice design, F&B operations and concept and brand development will broaden the company’s overall reach and enable it to provide world-class design services for multiple environments, such as clubhouse, food & beverage, fitness & wellness, retail and dynamic shared hospitality spaces.

In the interest of making a smooth transition, Dean Pinkston-Hayes has been brought onboard as design director of interiors. Pinkston-Hayes has almost 30 years of experience leading design studios in both the U.S. and abroad. He has worked on country clubs, casinos, hotels and residential projects, including such projects as an Intercontinental in Bahrain; The Royal Amwaj in Dubai; Palomar, a Kimpton Hotel in Atlanta; and Casino Gran Vía in Madrid, Spain.

Mike Ryan, chief operating officer of Troon, said that this transition will enable them to better serve their managed properties for all areas of the clubhouse and related amenity facilities.

“We welcome Dean to the team, and with his leadership, technical expertise and design IQ, we look forward to delivering elevated outcomes in our continued design collaborations with our managed properties and partners,” he said.

Ed Doyle, president of RealFood, said that this is a natural progression for the two companies.

“Our operational understanding and experience-first approach will only be elevated by the expert ability of the interiors team to create atmospheres that facilitate human experience of a space,” he said. “Our singular aim is to support Troon properties and our clients in achieving their visions for memorable hospitality experiences.”

The integration of the teams has already begun, and Troon plans to announce dedicated support studios in the future.
