Christopher to Compete in 124th U.S. Women’s Amateur


TULSA, Okla. – Tennessee women’s golfer Sophie Christopher is set to compete in the 124th U.S. Women’s Amateur at Southern Hills Country Club.

This year’s U.S. Women’s Amateur runs Aug. 5-11, with the first two days featuring 18 holes of stroke play apiece, before moving into the match play portion for the remainder of the event.

Christopher qualified for the event via a 2-under 68 in a final qualifying round at Franklin Bridge Golf Club in Franklin, Tennessee.

The Germantown, Tennessee, native posted a second-place finish at the Tennessee Girls’ Junior Championship and a seventh-place showing at the Tennessee Women’s Amateur Championship this summer.
