Gators on Tour: Olympic Edition


GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Two former Gators competed in the Olympics in France. 

PGA Tour Golfers

Alejandro Tosti (T-18) and Camilo Villegas (T-57) represented the Gators and their country’s this weekend in the Men’s Olympic Golf Competition. Tosti played for Argentina while Villegas played for Venezuela. 

Tosti started off hot, shooting a 3-under 68 that included an eagle on the par-5 564 yard third hole. The Argentinian would follow that up with a 2-under-69 entering the weekend 5 under. Tosti finished fourth in SG: putting and 14th in SG: off the tee to cap of an impressive first Olympic competition. 

Korn Ferry Tour Golfers

T.J. Vogel, Ricky Castillo and Fred Biondi all competed in the Utah Championship but all missed the cut. 

Castillo leads the pack in the Korn Ferry Tour Points List at No. 33 followed by Biondi at No. 116 and Vogel at No. 125. 


What’s Next

The PGA Tour will be in Greensboro South Carolina for the Wyndham Championship where Tyson Alexander, Billy Horschel, Camilo Villegas and Alejandro Tosti will be in the field. 

The Korn Ferry travels to Omaha, Nebraska for the Pinnacle Bank Championship with T.J. Vogel, Ricky Castillo and Fred Biondi in the field. 

The PGA Tour Champions is back this week with Mark Calcvecchia, Chris DiMarco and Scott Dunlap set to tee off in the Boeing Classic.
