Former William & Mary Golfer Owns 73.66 Career Scoring Average

BERKELEY – The California men’s golf team has signed transfer Charlie Bundy, Alex and Marie Shipman Director of Men’s Golf Michael Wilson announced Monday. Bundy played his first two collegiate seasons at William & Mary (Va.) and joins the Golden Bears ahead of the 2024-25 campaign with two years of eligibility remaining.

Bundy played in all 61 possible rounds for William & Mary over the course of his freshman and sophomore seasons and arrives at Cal with a 73.66 career scoring average. He posted a career-best 73.25 scoring average in 2023-24, the 10th-best single-season mark in William & Mary program history. Bundy has totaled eight top-20 finishes in his collegiate career, including one top-10 finish in each of his first two seasons.

In addition to being named a GCAA All-America Scholar last season, Bundy is a two-time Coastal Athletic Association Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll selection and a two-time CAA Golfer of the Week.

A native of Bethesda, Maryland, Bundy attended the Landon School and was the No. 1-ranked golfer in the state of Maryland’s Class of 2022 by Junior Golf Scoreboard.

Bundy’s signing completes Cal’s 11-man roster for the 2024-25 season. He’s one of six newcomers – two of whom are transfers – to join a Cal squad that placed 19th at the NCAA Championships last season.
