As if there was any doubt.
Scottie Scheffler capped one of the best seasons in PGA Tour history Sunday, winning the 2024 Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta to win his first FedEx Cup title and the $25 million prize. Scheffler, who started the day with a five-shot lead, signed for a 4-under 67 to finish at 30 under for the week to beat Collin Morikawa by four.
And not even a shank from the bunker could stop him in the final round.
After having opportunities to win each of the last two FedEx Cup titles, including a six-shot lead heading into the final round in 2022, Scheffler finally got his elusive title, his seventh victory of the season, to cap off a season not seen in nearly two decades on the PGA Tour.
Included in Scheffler’s seven victories are a major championship, his second Masters title, and he also won the Players, becoming the first player to win the Tour’s flagship event in back-to-back years. He also claimed four signature events: the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the RBC Heritage, the Travelers and the Memorial, then he went and won the Olympic men’s golf competition.
On Sunday, he added another significant trophy to his case, the FedEx Cup as the season-long champion of the PGA Tour.
The last player to win seven times in a single season? Tiger Woods in 2007.

The win earns him $25 million in bonus money, and that’s on top of the $29,228,357 Scheffler earned in official money, the most in a single season in PGA Tour history.
And if there was any doubt who was the Player of the Year, Sunday silenced that conversation.
