Preseason Awards
Filip Jakubcik was named to the 25-man Haskins Award fall watch list, which is given to the top male U.S. collegiate golfer and is voted on by only college golfers, coaches and golf media members. In addition, Jakubcik was listed as a Golf Channel’s Preseason All-American Third Team member.
Tiger Christensen was also named to Golf Channel’s Preseason All-American Third Team and will start the season ranked No. 21 in the PGA Tour University rankings. These rankings are very important as the No. 1 ranked golfer at the end of the golf season earns a PGA Tour membership. Players Nos. 2-5 are fully exempt and Nos. 6-10th are conditional players on the Korn Ferry Tour. Finally, those who finish Nos. 6-25th will earn a membership on the PGA Tour Americas. These memberships can give these players a major advantage towards their future after collegiate golf.
