Grand Haven, Mich. – Senior Brooke Biermann fired a 1-under par 69 and is tied for fifth place individually and Michigan State’s women’s golf team is in 10th place among 15 teams after the first day of play at the inaugural women’s Folds of Honor Collegiate, being played at American Dunes.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament is being played
Arizona leads the field at 1-over par 289, with Ohio State second at 2-over par 290, followed by Texas in third place at 3-over par 2981, Florida State in fourth place at 5-over par 293 and Baylor rounds out the top-five teams at 12-over par 300.
The Spartans just five shots away from the top-five, standing in 10th place at 17-over par 305.
Junior Brooke Biermann is tied for fifth place individually at 1-under par 71.
Junior Taylor Kehoe is tied for 36th place at 5-over par 77, while sophomore Ana Sofia Murcia is tied for 41st place at 6-over par 78.
Senior Katie Lu is tied for 47th place at 7-over par 79 and sophomore Paula Balanzategui shot a 10-over par and is tied for 69th place.
Michigan State tees off on Tuesday at 1:12 p.m. from the first hole, playing alongside Texas and Notre Dame.
