Noh Leads Cal With 2-Under-Par 70
LAKE ELMO, Minn. – In Sofie Aagaard’s first round as head coach of the California women’s golf program Monday at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, the Golden Bears carded a 3-over-par 291 as a team, tying their best season-opening round score in the last five years.
Kaylyn Noh shot a 2-under 70 to lead the Bears at Royal Golf Club, tying for 13th-place individually. After an even-par start through her first seven holes of the day, she put in an eagle on hole 18 and later closed the day out with back-to-back birdies on holes 7 and 9.
In her first action since breaking the program’s single-season scoring record at the end of last season, junior Adora Liu carded a 1-over 73, sinking a pair of birdies.
Liu tied for 23rd place alongside freshman Claudia Lara Miravitlles, who started off her Bear career with a birdie on her very first hole. She later bookended the day with her second birdie on hole 9.
Sophomore Constance Fouillet – who set Cal’s all-time freshman scoring record in 2023-24 – also ended the day tied with a Bear debutant, as she and freshman Marie-Agnes Fischer both shot 3-over 75 to tie for 37th place.
Cal’s first day of action in its new conference saw it tie with fellow ACC school Duke (+3) and finish three shots ahead of Clemson (+6). The Bears tee off round two Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. PT on hole 1.
