CHICAGO – USC women’s golf junior Catherine Park (Irvine, Calif./Crean Lutheran) was named Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week for the week of Sept. 12-18; the conference announced on Thursday, Sept. 19.
Park debuts as a B1G weekly-award winner after claiming her fourth tournament title at the Leadership and Golf Invitational, Sept. 16-17. The junior overcame a five-stroke differential in the final round as she tied San Francisco’s Riana Mission for the individual title at eight-under-par. With her fourth career win, Park is tied for the sixth most in USC history. During her tournament, she carded a 67-73-68 in three rounds, giving her 15 career rounds in the 60s (tied for 7th most in program history).
Park earned the Women of Troy their first-ever Big Ten weekly award, as the junior now has three weekly conference honors in her career (Pac-12, Apr. 16, 2024 | Pac-12, Oct. 24, 2023).
Park helped the team win its opening contest for the second-straight year (first time in over 25 years) as they defended the Leadership and Golf Invitational title. The Women of Troy won by nine strokes as they were five-under-par as a squad, with GCU finishing behind them at four-over-par.
USC returns to action with the Windy City Collegiate Classic as it travels to B1G country with Northwestern set to host. The event occurs Monday, Sept. 30, through Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Westmoreland C.C. in Wilmette, Ill.
