Tournament Tidbits: Schooner Fall Classic


NORMAN, Okla. — The Wisconsin women’s golf team competes this weekend at the Schooner Fall Classic, hosted by the University of Oklahoma from Sept. 21-23.

The Schooner Classic will be in its seventh year since the tournament started in 2018. This is the first year that the Badgers are competing in the tournament.

Here are five things to know before the Badgers tee off:

1. THE TOURNAMENT: The Schooner Fall Classic is slated to begin Saturday, Sept. 21 and run through Monday, Sept. 23, with 18 holes being played on each day. Tee times on Saturday and Sunday will begin at 8:30 a.m. CT, and Monday at 9:00 a.m. CT.

2. THE FIELD: Teams competing along with Wisconsin include Auburn, Florida Atlantic, Florida State, Iowa State, Houston, Kansas State, North Texas, Oklahoma (host), Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, TCU, Texas State, Tulane, Tulsa, and Virginia Tech.

3. THE COURSE: Home of the Oklahoma, Belmar Golf Club is a par-70 and will be playing at 6,188 yards for the tournament.

4. LINEUP: Chloe Chan, Carly Carter, Alexia Siehl, Kate Brody, and Ava Salay will be competing for Wisconsin. This will mark the second tournament of the season for four of the five, as Kate Brody is set to make her debut with the team for the first time this season after she played individually last time out.
