Wongthanavimok Cards a 66 To Open Mason Rudolph Championship


FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Arizona Wildcats women’s golf team is tied for third place after the first round of the Mason Rudolph Championship after posting a team score of 11-under par 277 on Friday. Junior Nena Wongthanavimok tied her career-best round of 66 (-6) and is in second place individually.
 
The Wildcats trail Mississippi State and South Carolina by one shot for the team lead.
 
Wongthanavimok registered six birdies without a bogey on her scorecard, highlighted by four birdies in six holes in the middle of her round. She also posted a 66 at the Gators Invitational on March 2, 2024.
 
Senior Carolina Melgrati also got off to a great start in round one, posting 4-under 68 and is tied for fifth place. She played her final five holes in 3-under par with an eagle, two birdies and a bogey.
 
Lilas Pinthier, a senior from Paris, France, is tied for 32nd after opening with a 1-under par round of 71.
 
Sophomore Charlotte Back and junior Julia Misemer both came with with rounds of even par 72 and are tied 47th in the 90-player field.
 
The Wildcats will be back in action for round two on Saturday starting at 6:15 a.m. MST. Live scoring for the tournament is available at GolfStat.com.
