EAST LANSING, Mich. – The University of Miami golf team tallied its second top-five finish of the season Monday after finishing fifth out of 15 teams at the Mary Fossum Invitational
As a team, the Hurricanes posted a 54-hole score of 884 (+20) on the par-72, 6,370-yard course at Forest Akers West in East Lansing, Mich.
Sophomore Barbora Bujáková tallied her first top-five finish of the season, shooting a team-leading 215 (-1) to place tied for fifth. Bujáková shot par or better in all three rounds to secure the top-five finish.
For the second straight tournament, junior Olivia Grønborg finished in the top 10, recording a 54-hole score of 218 (+2) to conclude the event tied for ninth.
Freshman Cloe Amion Villarino finished tied for 40th after totaling a three-round score of 227 (+11), while sophomore Rebekah Gardner (231; +15) and freshman Sofie Hlinomazová (233; +17) placed tied for 61st and 67th, respectively.
Ole Miss walked away with the team title after shooting 847 (-17) as a squad. Michigan State (862; -2) and Minnesota (872; +8) rounded out the podium at the Mary Fossum Invitational.
The Hurricanes will kick off the month of October at the Evie Odom Invitational on Oct. 4-6 in Virginia Beach, Va.
