Alice Johansson Wins Again, Shares Ptarmigan Ram Classic Title

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (September 24, 2024) – Washington State Women’s Golf sophomore Alice Johansson picked up more hardware, sharing the Ptarmigan Ram Classic individual title in Colorado Tuesday.

Johansson, who opened the season winning the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational hosted by Kentucky two weeks ago, entered the final round with a two-stroke lead after firing a 69 and school-record 65 in Monday’s opening rounds. The Bollnäs, Sweden native closed the tournament with a one-under 71 to finish with a 54-hole school-record 205(-11) and share the individual title with Abigail Leighton from UC Davis who shot a final round 66.

“It was great to see Alice have back-to-back wins and continue her awesome play!” Head Coach Kevin Tucker said. “Our team improved each round and we were close to putting it together today. That will give us something build on going into next weekend’s competition,  The Molly.”

The Cougars finished the tournament in 11th place and recorded the sixth-best team score amongst the field in Tuesday’s final round.

WSU returns to competition next Monday and Tuesday in Monterey, Calif. at The Molly.
