The matches don’t start till Thursday morning but Wednesday evening provided the first glimpse of what’s to come at the 2024 Presidents Cup.
The captains for the two sides – Jim Furyk for the U.S., Mike Weir for the Internationals – were each joined by their assistant captains for the Thursday matches selection process.
The Presidents Cup uses a “snake draw” format, with the captain from the defending champions, Furyk in this case, going first. Weir then selects second and third, with Furyk going fourth and fifth and so on till both sides have all five of their Thursday fourballs matches filled. This will leave two players on each side sitting out the opening day.
