WILMETTE, Ill. — The Virginia women’s golf team closed competition at the Windy City Collegiate Classic on Tuesday (Oct. 1). The Cavaliers placed seventh in the team competition and were led by Amanda Sambach who finished 17th in the individual competition.
As a team, Virginia combined to shoot 34-over 898 placing seventh in the 15-team field. The Cavaliers posted a final-round score of 26-over 314. Arizona State claimed the team title at 11-over 875.
Sambach led the team placing 17th in the individual competition shooting 7-over 223. Jaclyn LaHa placed 29th shooting 10-over 226. Kennedy Swedick’s 77 was Virginia’s best final-round score.

The Cavaliers will be back in action when the team travels to California for the Stanford Intercollegiate Friday-Sunday (Oct. 18-20).
