Cougars Set for Oregon State Invitational


PULLMAN, Wash. (Oct. 6, 2024) – The Washington State men’s golf team continues its fall season by heading to Corvallis, Ore. for the Oregon State Invitational, Oct. 7-8, hosted by Oregon State University. The event marks the fourth of five fall tournaments for the Cougars in 2024.
 
The Course and Tournament Format
The 2024 Oregon State Invitational will be held at the Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis. The course will play as a par-71 at 7,384 yards.
 
Teams will play 36 holes Monday, Oct. 7, and a final 18 holes Tuesday, Oct. 8. Play begins Monday at 8:15 a.m.

The Field
In addition to Washington State, other teams competing include host Oregon State, Cal State Fullerton, Boise State, Gonzaga, High Point, Idaho, Seattle, Tarleton State, Utah Valley, UMKC and UC Irvine.

Last Time Out
WSU last competed Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at the Badger Invitational, finishing tied for fourth in the 16-team field. Individually, junior Sam Renner captured his first individual collegiate title by finishing 9-under for a two-stroke victory.

Head Coach Dustin White begins his ninth season leading his alma mater. The 2024-25 Cougar squad, which returns four members from last season, looks to build of the 2024 campaign which saw WSU ends its season by capturing the title at the National Golf Invitational Championship, WSU’s first postseason tournament victory.
