Four Vols Inside Top 25 After Two Rounds at Fighting Irish Classic

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Four Vols sit inside the top 25 individually after two rounds at the Fighting Irish Classic as the sixth-ranked Tennessee men’s golf team is in eighth.

As a team, Tennessee shot 15-over through two rounds and is two shots back of Georgia Southern.

Laurent Desmarchais, who is competing as an individual, enters the final round tied for eighth. The senior shot a 2-over 72 in round one and recovered nicely with a 2-under 68 in the second round to sit at even-par overall.

Redshirt junior Lance Simpson is 1-over through two rounds and in 16th place. The Knoxville native fired an even-par 70 in the opening round and concluded day one with a 71.

Jackson Herrington sits one shot back of Simpson and is currently tied for 17th. The freshman posted a pair of 71s on Sunday and is eyeing his second career top-25 finish in just his third collegiate start.

Junior Evan Woosley-Reed is inside the top 25 through two rounds at 4-over. The Shelbyville, Tennessee, native opened the event with a 74 and bounced back to shoot even-par in his second 18 holes of the day.

Freshman Kai Komulainen enters Monday’s round tied for 51st. The Carrara, Australia, native shot a 75 in round one and 73 in round two.

Bruce Murphy, who is competing individually, also sits tied for 51st ahead of round three. The redshirt sophomore shot a 77 in his opening round and ended the day with a 71.

Josh Hill, Tennessee’s final member of the five-man lineup, is tied for 71st ahead of day two.
