Dublin, Ohio – Clemson women’s golf earned a win over Ohio State, 4-2, on Tuesday to finish 3-0 at the Barbara Nicklaus Cup, held at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio. Coming down to the final hole, the Tigers’ win over Ohio State combined with the men’s performance gave Clemson 19 total points to finish just behind Florida (19.5) in the full team competition.
Isabella Rawl was the most decisive winner for the Tigers on Tuesday, winning her match 3&2. The match was tied at the turn, but Rawl won holes 12 and 13 to put the match out of reach. Melena Barrientos earned her second match win of the weekend, 2&1, winning holes 16 and 17 to close it out.
Allison Paik earned her first match as a Tiger, 2-up, while Chloe Holder and Katherine Schsuter each tied their matches.
The men’s golf team fell to Ohio State, 3.5-2.5, but the teams’ scores combined for a second place finish.
The Tigers return to the course at the end of October, traveling to Wilmington, N.C., to participate in the Landfall Tradition.
