Murphy Inside Top 15 After Day One at Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Tennessee golfer Bruce Murphy is inside the top 15 after one round at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate.

The Johns Creek, Georgia, native fired a 1-under 71 to open the tournament and enters round two tied for 14th. Murphy came up clutch on No. 18 with a birdie to cap off the round. 

The No. 8/17 Tennessee men’s golf team sits tied for 10th place after Friday’s round.

Kai Komulainen and Evan Woosley-Reed are one stroke outside the top 20 after shooting a pair of 1-over 73s in the first round.

Lance Simpson shot a 77 in round one and enters moving day tied for 64th.

Freshman Jackson Herrington is in 74th ahead of day two.
