Tigers Finish in Fifth at the White Sands Invitational


In a tournament that featured five teams ranked in the top 50, University of Missouri women’s golf finished play at the White Sands Invitational fifth overall of 10 teams with three golfers in the top 20 individually.

Sophomore Fleur van Beek carded a three-over 75 to finish the tournament in ninth place at five-over (73-75). She finished the tournament with 27 pars through 36 holes to finish with her third top 10 of her sophomore season.

Junior Ffion Tynan posted an even-par 72 to finish the tournament in 13th at six-over (77-72). Addie Dobson was just one shot back, finishing in 17th at seven-over (75-75). 

As a team, the Tigers carded the third best score of the day with an eight-over 296 to finish in fifth place overall with a score of 598. No. 29, Kansas claimed the team title with a 15-over 587. Among the teams that the Tigers finished ahead of are SEC foe Georgia (+32) and No. 46 Charleston (+40)

Missouri will resume action next semester, returning to play on February 23 at the Westbrook Invitational.
