Tennessee In Fourth Through Two Rounds at Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee women’s golf team is in fourth place after two rounds at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship.  

The Lady Vols enter the final round at 16-over and are seven shots back of the lead.

Kyra Van Kan, who is on pace for her first career top-five finish, sits 2-over ahead of Tuesday’s round. The freshman shot a 69 in round one and 75 in round two.

Manassanan Chotikabhukkana and Sofie Engeseth enter the final round tied for 14th.

Chotikabhukkana gave Tennessee its lowest round-two score after shooting a 1-under 72 while Engeseth posted a 75.

Competing individually, Martina Lopez-Lanchares is tied for 22nd ahead of the final round after shooting 74 in rounds one and two. 

Bailey Davis is tied for 33rd after two rounds of play.

Sophie Christopher, who is competing individually, is also tied for 33rd after shooting a pair of 75s to open the event.

Sophomore Sophie Bierstorfer posted a 75 on day two and is tied for 46th ahead of day three.
