Li Earns Top 20 Finish at Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Fighting Illini women’s golf placed tied for 13th at the Landfall Tradition, carding a team total of 894 (+30), following a third round 301 (+13), today at the Country Club of Landfall.

Yurang Li earned a career-best tied for 16th-finish after her final round of 75 (+3). Li has now recorded the best finish of her career consecutive events while also recording two-straight top 20s for the first time in her career. She led the Illini with 11 total birdies during the tournament and also led the squad in par 4 (4.03, +1) and par 5 (4.67, -4) scoring.

Brielle Mapanao placed tied for 42nd at 7-over (223) after her final round of 74 (+2).

Lexanne Halama moved 21 spots up the leaderboard after firing a team-best 73 (+1) today to finish tied for 54th.

Victoria Zheng and Brielle Burns each carded a 79 (+7) in their final rounds to finish tied for 63rd and tied for 93rd, respectively.

Florida State took home the team title at 2-under (862) while the Seminole’s Lottie Woad and NC State’s Lauren Olivares Leon shared individual medalist honors at 6-under (210).

The Fighting Illini will be back in action on Feb. 16, 2025, when they begin play at the Spartan Sun Coast Collegiate Invitational at Palm Aire Country Club in Sarasota, Fla.
