The second half of the FedExCup Fall begins this week as the PGA TOUR heads to Japan for the ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP at the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club. The tournament is unique among FedEXCup fall events as the only competition without a cut. Collin Morikawa returns this week to defend his title and aims to become the first ever player to go back-to-back at this event. Despite not claiming a major in the 2024 season, Morikawa’s made eight top-10s including T2 finishes at the Memorial in June and the TOUR Championship last month. The American has managed two top-10 results in four appearances at the ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP. Xander Schauffele will also fancy his chances this week. Schauffele followed his major championship victories at the PGA Championship and at The Open with four straight top-10 finishes, including a T4 at the TOUR Championship in his last start. He’s also finished inside the top-25 in 20 of the 21 events he’s played this year. Native Hideki Matsuyama will also be teeing it up in Chiba this week. The Japanese was victorious here in 2021 and finished runner-up to Tiger Woods in the inaugural tournament in 2019. He has also claimed two victories on TOUR this year at The Genesis in February and FedEx St. Jude Championship in August. Others to look out for are Sahith Theegala, Max Homa, Justin Thomas and Min Woo Lee.
