Chen, Kim Move on to LPGA Final Qualifying


VENICE, Fla. – Following 72 holes of play at the 2024 LPGA Qualifying Stage, a pair of Duke women’s golf standouts – Anne Chen and Gina Kim – moved on to LPGA Final Qualifying as they finished 17th and tied for 18th, respectively, at the Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice.
 
At the beginning of the week, there were a total of 195 golfers and only 43 moved on to the final qualifying, which will take place Dec. 5-9 at the Magnolia Grove Golf Club in Mobile, Ala. 
 
Chen, a 2024 Duke graduate, carded rounds of 68, 72, 71 and 70 for a 7-under, 281, to finish 17th, while Kim, a 2021 Blue Devil graduate, signed for scores of 72, 72, 70 and 68 to finish 6-under, 282, which was tied for 18th. 
 
Fell Duke graduates Laetitia Beck, Emma McMyler and Erica Shepherd also competed, but did not advance.  The trio of Blue Devils will receive Epson Tour status for the 2025 campaign.
