Alicia Olsson, a Campbell transfer from Sweden, set to join Gamecocks in the fall
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Head coach Kalen Anderson announced the signing of transfer Alicia Olsson on Friday. Olsson, a sophomore, currently plays for Campbell and will finish her semester there joining the Gamecocks in the fall of 2025.
“Alicia is an exciting addition to our Gamecock golf family for the fall of 2025,” said head coach Kalen Anderson. “She will be significant in adding consistency, depth and experience to our line-up. She is a skilled ball-striker with a highly driven personality, which makes her a strong fit in our program culture both on and off the course. I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to work with Alicia and assist her with her continued development.”
In five fall events this season, the Amal, Sweden, native has finished in the top-10 five times with a team-best 70.60 scoring average. She had a pair of runner-up medalist finishes for the Fighting Camels at the Tiger Classic (Aug. 26) and the Mercedez Benz Intercollegiate (Oct. 20-22).
As a freshman at Campbell, Olsson was named First-Team All-CAA and the CAA Rookie of the Year. She led the team with a 74.10 scoring average, the fifth-lowest freshman scoring average in program history. Olsson logged four top-10 finishes in her 10 starts, including a fifth-place finish at the CAA Championship.
The No. 3 Gamecocks open the spring season in two weeks at the Therese Hession Regional (Feb. 2-4) at Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes, Calif. Carolina is the defending champions, winning the all-match play event in the program’s first ever appearance last February.
