Development of the Year/Renovation of the Year: Call for Entries for 2025 Competitions

Entries are now being accepted for Golf Inc.’s annual Development of the Year and Renovation of the Year competitions.

Development of the Year recognizes the daily fee/resort courses and private clubs with the best new traditional and non-traditional golf courses (including short courses!) opened during the past year around the globe.

Categories: New Private, New Daily Fee/Resort

Who is eligible: New golf courses that completed construction between January 1, 2024, and February 1, 2025 and were not previously entered.

Judging is blind and done by a panel of industry professionals. They judge based on four criteria:

  • Vision
  • Course aesthetics
  • Environmental and economic sustainability
  • Course routing and land usage
DOY 2024 First Place winner – Point Hardy Golf Club at Cabot Saint Lucia

Renovation of the Year recognizes the best renovation projects of the past year from around the world. Entrants will be asked to describe how the renovation achieved its goals through concrete results, photos and explanations.

Categories: Private Courses, Public Courses

Who is eligible: Any renovation project completed between January 1, 2024, and February 1, 2025. Previously submitted entries are not eligible for consideration.

Submissions will be judged by a panel of industry professionals based on three criteria:

  • Achievement of goals
  • Improved playability and maintainability
  • Course aesthetics

FOR BOTH COMPETITIONS

Fee: There is no entry fee.

Recognition: Judges will select a first, second, third place and honorable mentions. Winners will be featured in the 2025 May/June issue of Golf Inc. magazine.

Deadline for entries: Friday, February 28, 2025
