Cal Tees Off Spring Season In Palos Verdes



Bears Finished Top-5 In 2 Of Last 3 Tournaments

The California women’s golf team resumes its season at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge this Sunday through Tuesday.

The Ohio State-hosted tournament will take place on the par-71, 6,017-yard Palos Verdes Golf Course. The Golden Bears will be one of 16 competing teams, six of which enter the month of February with a top-10 national ranking (Scoreboard).

Cal enters the spring season following top-five finishes in two of its last three competitions. The Bears placed second at the Molly Invitational on Oct. 1, led by sophomore Constance Fouillet’s (-5) third-place individual finish. They ended the fall with a fifth-place showing at the Nanea Invitational on Oct. 30.

Junior Adora Liu and Fouillet led Cal to its lowest-ever scoring average (291.1) in 2023-24, with Liu breaking the program’s best individual 18-hole average (72.4) and Fouillet (72.7) coming in at No. 2 all time while setting a new freshman record. Fouillet (72.6) currently has the team’s lowest scoring average, followed by Liu (73.2) and senior Kaylyn Noh (73.2).

Fouillet’s 5-under 211 at the Molly is Cal’s best 54-hole score so far this season, while her five rounds of par or better are tied with Noh for the team lead. She and Liu matched each other with career-best marks of 5-under 67 in the final round at the Molly, just one stroke shy of the program’s all-time 18-hole record.
