Arizona Women’s Golf opens up their 2025 season at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge in Palos Verde Estates, California.
Last year, the tournament was played in a match play format due to expected harsh weather conditions. The Wildcats went 2-1 in last year’s event with wins against Clemson and Mississippi State and a loss to South Carolina. Charlotte Back went 3-0 in her matches while Nena Wongthanavimok and Lilas Pinthier both had two wins out of the three matches.

In The Rankings
The Wildcats start the 2025 season ranked 8th in the country by Scoreboard. After a great fall season winning two out of four tournaments, in head coach Giovana Maymons first season, the Cats are ready to go.
St. Andrews Links Collegiate
Arizona women’s golf picked up their second win of the season after defeating Northwestern by a score of 4.5 to 1.5 at the Old Course at St. Andrews. This came after we finished second behind Northwestern in the stroke play portion of the tournament that was the two days before. All six of the Wildcats finished tied for 13th or better, with Charlotte Back finishing in second place.
Windy City Classic
Wildcats finished tied for eighth with a total team score of 35-over par. Charlotte Back finished in fourth place which at the time was her career best finish. She finished even par for the tournament and had a round of 66 in round one. The next best finish was Lilas Pinthier who was tied for 29th at the end of the tournament.
Mason Rudolph Championship
As a team, the Wildcats finished in fourth place and the top individual was Carolina Melgrati placing tied for fifth. Through 54 holes in the tournament she had 15 birdies and one eagle. Nena Wongthanavimok shot her career tournament low in relation to par at 3-under par. She ended in a tie for 12th at the end of the tournament.
Folds of Honor Collegiate
In head coach Giovana Maymon‘s debut, the Wildcats won the Folds of Honor Collegiate by three strokes. Led by Carolina Melgrati who finished runner-up and was in contention all tournament with a chance to win it. Back and Wongthanavimok also had a great tournament with finishes of tied for sixth and 11th. Back gave the Wildcats a major push on the last day with a round of…
