Arizona Men's Golf Finishes Runner-Up at The N.I.T.


Arizona Men’s Golf finishes the N.I.T. runner-up with a total score of 36-under par over the 54-hole tournament at Omni Tucson National. Johnny Walker was the top Wildcat placing tied for third at 12-under par. The Wildcats finished runner-up behind BYU who were 50-under par.

Johnny Walker tied his 54-hole career low of 204 after shooting a bogey free 69 on the final day. His tied for third finish also matches his best finish in his career. Filip Jakubcik shot 2-under par to bring his 54-hole score to 10-under par. On the leaderboard, Jakubcik finished in solo seventh for his third top ten finish of the 2024-25 season.

Zach Pollo had three birdies and an eagle in the final round to shoot a 69. He ended the tournament tied for eighth place. Jackson Norwich, competing as an individual, tied his 54-hole career low of 208 and had his best finish of his career at tied for 13th. 

Tianyi Xiong had eight birdies in his final round and in the end carded a 70. He finished 4-under par for the N.I.T. and tied for 30th. Griffin Rhoads finished the final round with a 73 and placed tied for 36th. Metaj Baca shot a 74 in the last round and finished at 8-over par for the tournament. 

This marks the second consecutive year that the Wildcats finish runner-up at the N.I.T.. The Cats have a month break until the Cabo Collegiate at the beginning of March.
