HUMACAO, PR — Freshman Benjamin Siriboury earned his first top 15 finish to lead the Maryland men’s golf team at the Palmas del Mar Collegiate this week at the Palmas del Mar Country Club in Puerto Rico.
Siriboury shot a 54-hole score of 214, the lowest of his career. He shot a 70 in the first round, a 75 in the second and a 69 in the third round. The 69 was the best round of his collegiate career. He racked up 14 birdies total and parred or birdied 45 of the 54 holes.
Sophomore Emil Riegger tied for 21st individually with a score of 215 (74-69-72), which was -1 overall. Sophomore Yang Kuang tied for 32nd with a score of 218 (73-71-74), which was +2.
Senior Florian Huerlimann earned a score of 222 (77-72-73) and freshman Will Gregware earned a score of 225 (77-74-74). Junior Armand Papaziani competed as an individual and earned a score of 236 (79-78-79).
As a team, the Terrapins earned a team score of 868 (294-286-288), which was +4.
Next, the Terps will compete in the Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Ga. March 21-23.
