ILLINI AT THE CHEVRON COLLEGIATE

This will be the fourth-straight year that the Illini will compete at The Chevron Collegiate. In last year’s event, the Orange and Blue finished in ninth, but Isabel Sy claimed co-champion honors thanks to a 7-under 65 in the second round and 4-under 68 in the third and final round.

Illinois’ second round team score of 12-under in the 2023 tournament is the program’s second-lowest team round.

The Illini also found team and individual success in the 2022 edition, finishing second out of 15 teams carding a 54-hole total of 850 (-24), the lowest 54-hole tournament score in program history. The team also set a single-round program record by going -15 (273) in the final round. Crystal Wang’s -8 (64) on the final day was then the lowest round in program history, surpassing the previous record by two strokes, and her tournament score of -13 (203) was also the second-lowest in school history. Both Wang and Kornkamol Sukaree recorded Top 10 finishes in the tournament.
