Women's Golf in Second Place on Day One of Bruin Wave Invitational


After two rounds on the first day of the Bruin Wave Invitational the Wildcats are in second place at 13-over par. The team shot 5-over in the first round followed by 8-over par in the second round. Charlotte Back was leading the charge for the Cats.

Back shot two rounds of 71 to put her in solo third place at 2-under par for the tournament. Overall, she played very clean golf with seven birdies and just five bogeys in 36 holes. Nena Wongthanavimok carded rounds of 75 and 73 as she ended the day tied for 12th. 

Julia Misemer shot 6-over par in the two rounds and she is tied for 18th. Maria Cabanillas is tied for 25th after carding a 78 and 75 in her rounds. 

Carolina Melgrati played well in her first round shooting 2-over par but couldn’t find any birdies in her second round. Lilas Pinthier, competing as an individual, shot even par in round one then shot a 79 in the second round. She’s tied for 20th at 7-over par. 

The Wildcats look to chase down the UCLA Bruins who sit in first place at 2-under par. Tee times for the final round are yet to be announced. But, will be posted in our story on instagram.
