With round one in the books, the Arizona women’s golf team comes in at 3-over par and sits in tenth place, nine shots back of the lead. There are six teams tied for fourth at 2-over par. Carolina Melgrati is two shots off of the individual leader and is tied for sixth at 2-under par.
Melgrati had a great day with a round of 70 that consisted of three birdies and just one bogey. Julia Misemer fired a 1-over par round and is tied for 26th place. A highlight from her round came on the par 5, 16th hole where she made an eagle.
Maria Cabanillas and Lilas Pinthier both carded a 74 in their first rounds. Cabanillas had four birdies in her round and shot even par on the front nine. Pinthier was able to finish her round with two birdies and a bogey free back nine. Charlotte Back shot 4-over while shooting an even par back nine that had all pars.
The Wildcats will tee off at 8:00am MST for round two as they look to close the gap between themselves and the leaders (Oklahoma).
