Arizona men’s golf is tied for eighth as day one of the Cabo Collegiate is complete. The Wildcats are 11-over par with the leaders at 8-under par. Filip Jakucbik had the best day of the Wildcats as he sits tied for 12th.
Jakubcik shot an even par round of 71 with two birdies and two bogeys in his round. The individual leader sits at 4-under par leaving Jakubcik in striking distance. Johnny Walker finished at 1-over par and is tied for 17th. He shot even par on the back nine and one over par on the front nine.
Zach Pollo is tied for 33th at 3-over par after a slow start in his first nine holes (back nine start). Pollo was able to finish his round strong with a 1-under par front nine. Jackson Norwich, competing as an individual, carded a round of 77 and is tied for 58th.
Tianyi Xiong and Griffin Rhoads both didn’t have their best rounds on day one. Xiong was 9-over par and Rhoads finished 7-over par. They look to help the team complete a comeback on moving day.
Round two tee times for the Wildcats begin at 8:30 am MST.
