Sam Renner Named to Arnold Palmer Cup Watch List

PULLMAN, Wash. (March 5, 2025) – Washington State junior Sam Renner has been named to the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup Watch List, it was announced Wednesday.

The Arnold Palmer Cup is a Ryder Cup-style competition, which features 24 collegiate golfers (combined men and women) from the United States versus 24 of their International counterparts. The event is scheduled for June 5-7, at Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland, S.C. The Arnold Palmer Cup was co-founded by Arnold Palmer and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and began at the Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Orlando, Fla., in 1997.

Renner, from Bend, Ore., is having a tremendous season for the Cougars, posting a 69.86 scoring average through WSU’s first seven events. That scoring average is on pace to break the single-season scoring mark of 71.15, set last year by Preston Bebich. Renner has two tournament titles to his credit this season and has finished par or better in 16 of his 21 total rounds.

Renner is just the second Cougar men’s golfer to be named to the April Palmer Cup Watch List, the first being current WSU Head Coach Dustin White.
