Cal Takes Seventh At PING/ASU Invitational

5 Bears Finish Among Top 40 Individually

PHOENIX – Three Golden Bears shot under par in the final round of the PING/ASU Invitational on Sunday as the California women’s golf team moved up one spot for a seventh-place finish at Papago Golf Club.
 
Cal shot its best 18-hole score of the tournament with a 1-under-par 287, highlighted by a 2-under 70 from Kaylyn Noh and a 1-under 71 by Adora Liu. The Bears finished the three-day, 54-hole tournament at 9-over-par (288-298-287 – 873). Host Arizona State (-36) won the tournament while Northwestern (-23) and Kansas (-11) rounded out the top three.
 
Noh, who entered the final round in 51st place individually, climbed 32 spots to finish 32nd at 4 over after tallying birdies on holes 13, 16, 1, 3 and 5 to overcome a trio of bogeys. Liu – who carded six birdies in the final round – was Cal’s top finisher in 19th at even par and was closely followed by Anna Malloy (+1) in 21st.
 
Claudia Lara Miravitlles, playing as an individual, matched Noh with a 68 and finished tied with her for 32nd at 4 over.
 
UP NEXT
The Bears will play in the Silverado Showdown in Napa, hosted by Colorado and Oregon on April 7-9.
